It's not just scumbria who is still in a cult-like trance, it's millions of liberals across the country.

Reminds me of the stories from some soldiers who were in Germany in 1945. They would capture a German town and the people would come out of the woods all bleary eyed. As soon as it was announced that Hitler was dead, they finally realized the war was over-and only then did the shock begin.

I had always assumed that Americans were raised in a tradition of freedom and mistrust of government, as taught by the Founding Fathers, so a Hitler would just get stomped if he tried to enter politics here. But Bill Clinton and his propaganda henchmen (including his wife) are as close a parallel-in terms of methods and tactics-to the Nazis of the early '30's as has ever been seen in the post-war era. The fact that so many Americans defended him during impeachment and supported him without knowing what kind of president or person he really was has exposed a fatal flaw in our society that may some day do as much damage to us as the German's support for Hitler did for them.

Compared to such a phenomenon, the emergence of fundamentalist Christian political influence disturbs not at all...
