We're not going to agree.

That's your point.

My point is that it excludes men, and makes it appear as though men should not be concerned about this issue.

In fact, it goes deeper than that. The primary advocate against domestic violence in my community is a woman who basically believes every man is evil and that the only way to end violence against women is to put every man in jail. If I exaggerate, it's not by much. Obviously, she has few men willing to be strong advocates against DV in this community. It's counterroductive.
