Rally on bad news is what happened in January as I recall.



NO NO, That was a rally on the good news that the bottom was in.

No, a surprise rate cut caused that rally. The institutions were caught with their pants down on January 3rd with the surprise rate cut by AG as witnessed by a 350 pt melt up. Then they took the liberty to force prices down for three straight days following that rally so they too could join in, before dumping their inventory near the end of the month.
