Petronas tenders to sell term Sudan Nile Blend crude

SINGAPORE, April 11 (Reuters) - Malaysia's state-owned Petronas has issued a tender to sell Sudanese Nile Blend crude for one-year on term basis starting July, traders said on Wednesday.

The tender offers one 600,000 barrels each cargo per month of the medium sweet high pour crude to lift between July to June 2002.

The tender will close on April 13, with offers valid until April 16.

Sellers have been requested to offer at a premium or discount to the Indonesian crude price (ICPs) for Asian benchmark Minas crude.

Petronas is one of the equity producers of Nile Blend crude and has been selling cargoes on a spot basis to Japanese, South Korean and Chinese refiners, traders said.

Petronas has a 30-percent stake in the Sudan field, which has production capacity of around 200,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The other stakeholders of the field are China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) (40 percent), Canada's Talisman Energy Inc (25 percent) and state-owned Sudan Petroleum (five percent).
