*laugh* you know, I have to disagree there. Sometimes one needs to run filtering over a data series to understand it better. But I see your point - you do have to understand your tools. And like someone else said, the indicators don't hurt the performance of the servers, the demand for data on unlimited symbols does.

In the context of using QCharts resources, I don't see indicators as affecting bandwidth in any way. Like you suggested, the indicators are simply a way of restating the basic chart prices and volume. Those are the data that is sent. The indicators are just computations.

As far as their value as a prognosticators go, I say to each his own. I like to keep an open mind. Maybe I'll learn something.

<<But don't ever tell anyone that their MACD, OBV, or RSI, is totally useless. They have to believe in something. This isn't an era of science, but of witchcraft and tea leaves. Science? Their education precludes any such heresy.>>

All I need to see is price and volume and draw a few lines here and there. And load a few different symbols a day and no hot lists, quote sheets or the like.

Unfortunately due to Quote.com's ongoing issues with capacity management, they couldn't even run a service to meet my modest needs.

All I want to see is the price and volume bars in something closely approximating 'real time'.

PS: eSignal's 500 or 1000 symbol limit doesn't bother me one bit. And its run flawlessly ever since I switched.
