glen, why not offer basic shipping and handling with an option for the deluxe gift package? hit both markets and let folks decide what they want for themselves.

I had not thought of this approach. I can't imagine putting a nice ring in a padded envelope but if that is what they way... I still have to Register the package. That costs me $5 right there.

i'd also advertise that you are a b&m jeweler with 25+ years experience and $x of annual sales history.


That I do plus I added a toll free number for the customers. No one has used it. That is good<G> I am not sure I would want to provide our volume but I publish our volume rating relative to the rest of the jewelers in the industry. I do not believe most believe me so they likely would not believe the volume number either.

I believe if I continue and have a longer track record with a ton of positive feedback that would be the key.

Did you see all the bad retailing numbers come in and the management in almost all cases blamed it on the weather? What is wrong with public companys? Tell the truth. The economy is slowing and consumers are not spending. It is not the weather.
