Hmmm... I'm not so sure about "having the best compiler for Windows" - I was using the first versions and found quite some bugs. Borland wasn't able to compete in a market for standardized programming languages. It wasn't able to make it much better than the other products, so it failed to make big money on it. C++ Builder is not another C++ compiler - it's more an integration tool between Delphi technology and standard C++. It adds RAD user interface design and database connectivity to C++ programs. But if someone would only use C++ Builder, Delphi would be far better, because none of these two use a standardized programming language, and Delphi is the main product and more optimized towards Delphi technology.

What Anders knows something about is good software quality. his products have always been very good in most details, and it has always been possible to continue the design pattern without skipping everything invented until then - like MSFT does it now with Visual Basic.

I believe that Anders is the right guy to use for .net, because he can enable Microsoft to do other things better and increase Microsoft productivity.
