Your way of looking at risk and natural cycles is not conducive to being around stocks, imo.<< when money markets make sense, i buy them. that is why i've been there with the vast majority of my money since jan/feb 2000 when the bio bubble bailed me out. actually, victor, i am quite capable of assessing rational risk. no, i'm unwilling to stick my head in the sand and buy on the principle that some other idiot, greater than me (not many out there when i decide to act foolish!) will buy a piece of paper at a price many times above the worth of what that piece of paper represents. i buy cheap. i under pay for assets. when a market is grossly overvalued, you are darn right i don't touch it. over the long term, that is an excellent approach. but don't say b/c the market represents horrible risk / reward at present that i'm somehow not cut out for the market. it will come to daddy eventually and people will be wailing and gnashing their teeth when as i transfer my dough from money market accounts into undervalued assets relative to the worth of the underlying company prospects and tell people they are foolish for buying at pes of 300 and selling at pes of 8...
