More to the point is HOW you think.

Absolutely.

Either you are willing to accept a premise that hes no logic or evidence to support it, or you are not. If you are, you can postulate anything that pleases you, and spend the rest of your life thinking (in a loose sort of way I suppose you could call it thinking) very hard about your creations. If you are not, it becomes very difficult to seriously entertain certain ideas.

If you know that a person is unwilling to accept any premise that is not supported by evidence or reason, and you ask that person whether Santa Claus exists, you can predict the answer with absolute certainty.

The history of human progress is the history of the abandonment of accepted premises, and almost every breakthrough stems from testing of a premise that previous generations knew was true. We are by no means finished with this process - accepted premises abound among us - but we're making progress.

The world is a much, much, nicer place to live today than it was 100 years ago, and I think the accelerated abandonment of accepted premises has a lot to do with that.
