Re: There are 2 factors that affect Rambus licensing revenue even more than running royalties on RDRAM's.

I'm still surprised (seriously - not just running down rambus). Playstation ramped big time this quarter and whatever P4 sales were, they had to be a lot better than Q4 of last year. Those both should result in major revenue increases. Several companies signed SDRAM/DDR licensing agreements in Q4 of last year that would have first shown revenues next quarter. It's amazing that they actually forecast a 20% reduction in revenue for next quarter. And since that revenue reflects sales that have already taken place, visibility must be quite good. Even if P4 sales were terrible, and the new SDRAM/DDR licensees were refusing to pay, Rambus should be up a little due to playstation and Intel certainly has sold somewhat more than the few hundred thousand P4s it sold last year.

By the way, there is no mention of licensee's refusing to pay in their statement, and since that would most definitely be material news, they would have had to include it.
