gott

well, you know it's not that i'm bugged by it or worried about it, so much as i am at a loss to really explain it. and then, of course, the question of what does it really matter? comes creeping in! <g3>

all i know for sure is that there are a bunch of old si urls around that don't work (beyond taking you to a home page) unless you try a thing or two with them.

there's trying what i said worked for me, then there's what ed suggested, then catlady and pw added some things.

the fact that several posters have found that some links work sometimes in some locations can not be disputed or explained.

have you come across any old urls that do not work just by clicking on them, gott, say from your bookmarks (or favorites)?

and btw, browsers may have an impact on all of this stuff too.

interesting, imo

:)
