Well, I like hot running water and flush toilets. And antibiotics. But I think I would have liked to live in ancient Greece, as long as I was a member of the upper classes (as of course I would be!) To have heard Demosthenes speak, to have seen the plays of Sophocles and Aristophenes (especially the ones we have long since lost), to have gathered in the Agora discussing politics with friends -- maybe it's unrealistic nostalgia, but it seems like a better life than we lead.
