The history of religion demonstrates the inaccuracy of regarding it as requiring unquestioning faith. That suffices, thank you. Lots and lots of atheists and agnostics were, like me, raised Catholic. My most vivid memories of my religious training are of nuns wielding rulers bristling every time I asked "why" until I finally stopped asking. Had I been raised in a different religious tradition or had less vivid memories, I might not have been so receptive to Steven's assertion. Karen
