It also depends on whether or not and how fast institutions unload total garbage like XLNX and RIMM and AMZN etc, and how fast the price drops when they do. RIMM had 4 times normal volume on Thursday, are there any buyers left? This action is the biggest short squeeze in history. I mean the broader tech market not RIMM. RMBS was the biggest single issue squeeze ever that will likely never be duplicated. Next Thurs-Friday and the following week will be the tell IMHO.
