I recalled it, but may have forgotton the portion I just referenced. All I recalled was that Win2K was defaulting to PIO mode and that one needed to go into Hardware->Devices->ATA Controllers and adjust the advanced setting on the primary and secondary controllers. A subsequent topic was why this was only required on some computers.

However, according to these knowledge base articles, that only provided ATA-33. No ATA-66 on intel controllers (which all my boxes have) and no ATA-100 on any controllers.

But then I'm old, feeble, and too lazy too search back six months <g>. Actually, until we put together a thread FAQ, which would involve divying up the 18,000 messages among 10 to 20 of us, I think recycling things periodically is good for newcomers and those of us with failing memories :)
