I read the iSCSI article too, it was biased and did NOT cover the many advantages of iSCSI ..
1) It has SUPERIOR benefits over native FC in
- Infrastructure (everybody already has IP hardware)
- Security (FC doesn't really have any)
- QoS (quality of service, I can guarantee IP bandwidth, you can't over FC)
- Network Management
- R&D Investment

2) iSCSI provides for greater storage access over distance.
3) iSCSI is ideal for storage consolidation & providing access to shared storage resources
4) iSCSI is the preferred connection of choice for SSPs

Now that I have added some balance, let me say that I firmly believe there is a place for BOTH technologies in every data center, and the iSCSI people are saying that. Furthermore, I just got back from the SNIA show (Storage Networking World), and the FC SAN manufacturers are embracing iSCSI now, and you WILL see pretty much everybody in the industry with iSCSI products over next year or so.
