Thread, I haven't seen any posting on the following (and did a quick search).

In my regular wholesaler price list was the following notation:

"DDR memory modules are in demand whereas demand for SDRAM memory modules has been slowing down and therefore NEC announced that they will give up the market of SDRAM chips market this year."

I didn't research any other sources to confirm this but it sure seems nice for the only platform that presently benefits from DDR: AMD!

ps: Dale, responding to your reply @Ace's (I am not really active there and that thread is likely stale anyway) -- regarding PC2100 pricing, I would expect prices to ultimately drop below Crucial's direct pricing based on the relative PW & direct prices for Micron PC133. However, by buying direct you do get free 2nd day shipping, provide the most support to Micron while still getting by far the best price today for DDR.

Anyone, please give me a hint how the 200/266 diff in FSB frequency affects the system performance. How's the memory bandwidth affected? Do I need special memory to maximize the bandwidth? Which mobo is for the moment considered to be the best pick (I do have a KT7, but was thinking of getting the KT7A).
Also, does anyone have any idea when the dual Athlon boards are available? I've been waiting for quite some time now.

Bjorn

<< Admittedly, the signal to noise ratio is relatively low. But if you cut through the noise, he has added quite a bit qualitatively as well. >>

When 95% of what someone posts is sarcasm, it makes it very difficult to take the other 5% seriously.
