Take a look at the Profunds Ultra Short OTC, they claim it goes up or down at 2X the QQQ.

profunds.com

As you can see, it went from $90.05 to 53.72 during this last four day rally.

It also went from $29.87 on the first of February when the January effect ended, to $90.05 on 4/4/01 when this last rally began.

That's a 300% return for being in the fund during this last leg down since 2/1/01. Not bad.

The LEAP put on the Dow YDXXJ has a strike of 140 (or 14,000 on the Dow) and sells at less than its intrinsic value becaue it is european style and can't be exercised unitl expiration. In other words, if the Dow just stays where it presently is, in December of 2002 the put would be profitable. If the Dow drops to 8000 any time bteween now an expiration, the profit on the put would probably be about 100%.

But if you think the Dow is headed for 14,000, don't touch it.
