One difference. Even people who don't play music or appreciate art can at least SEE the art and hear the music. This does not appear to be the case for religious experience. For us unwired folks it IS the emperor's new clothes. It really is. To strive for a common metaphor you may understand.

An even simpler example is color. I don't know how many times I've ordered something in hunter green (one of my faves) from a catalog and received something that's forest green. It's hard to convey color in words.
