Would energy stocks be weak until then ?

I am basically going to ride out the Nasdaq higher for a bit longer.

I am interested in mostly natural gas, electricity generation and some newer sources of energy. That is where I want to be positioned for the longer term. Lots of takeover possibilities in energy. One can probably still hold stocks in natural gas sector knowing that there are big oil companies with lots of cash looking for acquisitions. In the case of Barrett, there was never any deal but the stock has not dropped at all.

No idea if there would be short term weakness even if the Nasdaq gains. I would think there are a lot of other areas some fund managers may want to sell. I would guess they won't be dumping energy stocks in the short term but who knows.

As I trade out of technology, I am just going to keep shifting funds to energy stocks. However, I doubt we have seen the end of the line for the technology rally. My target is somewhere between 2300 and 2600 before I bail out of the sector. The target is basically a very short term one.

BTW--My strategy changes very often and I might not stick to that kind of plan if things look different in the near term...for example the reaction to intel's earnings which are going to be pretty gloomy. Might have to bail out earlier if the techs stall.
