In the spirit of analyst bashing, here's what one such ANALyst (CIBC Oppenheimer analyst Henry Blodget) had to say about the "Internet economy" just over two years ago:

Not to be outdone, Blodget writes the following in a column for
News.com in January 1999: "Unlike with other famous bubbles ...
the Internet bubble is riding on rock-solid fundamentals, perhaps
stronger than any the market has seen before. Underlying the crazy
price increases are the foundations of what could become the
early 21st century's leading growth companies.... Just because the
Internet stock phenomenon looks like a bubble, it isn't a given that
the bubble will burst.
"

I really do feel for those who bought into this - and in many ways, everyone has lost with the crash, but come on! What "rock solid fundamentals" is this moron talking about??

With 20/20 hindsight and all that, one is tempted to say... if it looks like a bubble, smells like a bubble and acts like a bubble - it's probably a bubble ;-). And bubbles will burst.

The quote above was brutally ripped from a compilation of such dumb remarks and actions:

Dear Barjo:

Re: question on FSB performance

I have a KK266R and a 1200/266 Tbird. You can see relative scores in the Scimark Database on JC's web page. I have a set of htmls between 133 and 152 FSB at 9x and 142 to 148 at 10x plus one at 150 FSB at 9.5x. I could go higher than 152, if I use safe mode (a MPEG video card the Iomega Buz does not like PCI speeds of >= 38MHz (152/4)). If you want these, I can email you.

Performance appears to be around 5% to 10% depending on application. Some that fit in L1/L2 do not see any improvement whereas those that go extensively to memory see a 33% improvement all else being equal (same CAS settings, etc). Scimark went from 94.5 at 133 to 107.3 at 150 with 9x mult. I would go with a KT133A based at this point with Cas2 memory using an AXIA Tbird. I am quite happy with mine on a KK266R (1200 (133x9) at 1.525V (lowest on std bios)).
