If we hadn't of felt a need to fly military aircraft where they have no conceivable peaceful purpose none of this would be happening. If I were running China, I wouldn't give the U.S. the plane back until the U.S. agreed to quit doing that.

Since when do we need to show a "concievable peaceful purposes" for flying aircraft over International waters. I suppose the satellites we fly over China also have no conceivable peaceful purpose, maybe we should just let them shoot a few of them down. Western borders are like a sieve to Chinese spies. It's not so easy the other way around, we have to find other, less intrusive methods of gathering intelligence. Every single nation on the globe that has the capability engages in this type of activity, including China.

Don't simply blame China for actions that every major nation shares.

You mean like intelligence gathering and spying from airplanes flying outside of national boundaries?

Now we find out that the US plane was flying straight and level with the autopilot on when this hot-dog fighter ace impaled himself on one of its propellers and almost tipped it into the ocean. One hundred percent a screw-up on their part that almost killed 24 of our service men and women. A multitude of previous egregious instances which were formally protested, some of them captured on film. Lies, loud BS and propaganda from the Chi-coms from beginning to end.

They've screwed themselves with the US Congress and public on this one.
