I have a hard time appreciating the relevance of that to our current stance on China. People in China consider our activities this century in Central America relevant. I believe we should too, if for no other reason than to understand what our adversary is thinking. Are you really trying to sell me on the moral equivalency of our history during the past century, and that of the Chinese Communists? Don't put words in my mouth - my point is simply that countries protect their interests at all costs, especially in their backyards.
