Yes, the wine country is most beautiful in the Fall and in the Springtime. The climate is usually balmy and bright.

The elitists and gourmets have taken the eateries over and the prices reflect the current affluence. European style chefs abound and they turn out menus resembling French and German. But just like in Europe, McDonalds is always around. The landscape blessed with cathedral type wineries and free wine samples continues pristine and colorful.

Calistoga in the upper valley has some watering holes and restaurants for the average citizen to enjoy. The history of the place should also be of great interest to those that like to read about how humbly some of our spa areas began.

The Blue Bird was overdoing it early this morning attacking house and car. I rapped on the window pane in defense, but it did not deter him. I think he's gone batty.
