Can anyone tell me which files to backup in outlook express? I know the wab file is the address book but don't know what the other ones are. I have restored my hard drive using Disk Image and although I copied my entire outlook express file to zip drive I don't know which to restore. All the same size, date etc.

Bob

PMS Witch and Mr Mark,

Thank you both for your efforts. I read your replies having already reformatted. I was able to save many files even though there was no program to read them at the time. A partial reinstall seemed unplausible as the Toshiba recovery CD doesn't seem able to do anything but a full reinstall.

I did try the registry restore without success. That has saved me on several occasions, but not this time.

Mark, this is a computer at home. The one I posted about once before was an office computer.

Sometimes a clean sweep makes everything a little smoother running anyway. Thanks again for you help.
