BTW my brother-in-law (they are visiting) was at Northern Trust when Kasriel was a junior economist, I found out last night. THis same brother-in-law had the distinction of becoming vice-president for public relations at Continental Illinois just as it collapsed. He had been aiming at a quiet and secure career in banking. Maybe he can write memoirs when he retires.

Any hint of tightness in money and whoosh! Nasdaq 1000, Dow below 8000 and falling. Or so I think.

Mike, It is not that the promoters are immoral. They are amoral. They simply have no idea of all the pain they cause with their stupidity, and part of the reason is that they are usually their own worst marks.
