I'm not buying the man's story, John-too much has changed since 1982.
There was no Msft, csco, amat, orcl, cpq stock. Ibm pc came out in 1981

If history always repeats, perhaps gas will go back to 30 cents/gal. (Someone asked, its $1.54 here for reg)
People have told me to hold Gold because it will go back to $640 but its been nigh on thirty years and no progress yet. Or that the price ratio of gold to silver is historically such and such but its not back there yet.
IMO its better to look at one stock or one sector to get to clues for investments.
But I hear the drums beating, calling Dell clansmen back from the hills to forge a new army.
