Reopublicans, be watchful because the so-called energy crisis looks like it is being manipulated and exaggerated (like the old arms race) for everything it's worth to the oil/power/nuke industry and end up costing us even more than RR's S&L debacle. What? The shortage just suddenly sppeared in November? Not. When the truth comes out later that the shortages and high-prices were rigged and Bush's people were right in the middle of it actually promoting higher prices, then we will only be able to kick ourselves. Meanwhile there will have been a trillion dollar ripoff completed and there will be nothing we can do. One thing I know the energy business isn't going to be regulated for the next four years, as the S+L business wasn't during the RR years. "Go ahead boys, make all you can, just leave a little soft money behind as a tip" is the credo I see here.
And it looks like Bush (or Cheney rather) did use his "clout" with OPEC, to get them to cut production and keep prices very high. And not one word about conservation. Gee, what a great bunch. And they want to give you back some of "your money", while adding to "(not) your debt" and picking your pocket with the other hand in the form of 50% higher energy costs. Always ask, "Who gains?". Why else order pollution levels raised and the environmental regulations scrapped? So your good ole boy soft-money contributors can rape and pillage. Pigs at the trough time. Cheney himself will make more than 100 million off this.

It's pay-back time for the Bush crowd. Energy and polluters made a great investment in Bush. 40 mill soft money for maybe 400 billion in profits. Coming from where? From us, people. McCain never would have done it that way. Nominated the wrong man. And McCain also gave Bush the election winning him New Hampshire. Sounds like he is the man to elect next time and the man to supprt with campaign finance reform. Write your congressmen. The GOP congress has been sucking on the soft-money tit so long they're extremely corrupt and spoiled now. Get them off the habit or get rid of them. Esp soft-money king Tom DeLay who runs a lot of it out of his PAC doling out the millions from corporate special interests to try and keep everyone else voting his way (as opposed to the peoples way).
