OT: Zen, I couldn't help but notice your interest in religion on the A&P thread. I too have found myself in spiritual reflection this weekend.

Being Easter Weekend, isn't it amazing that the Jesus of the Bible never preached a funeral sermon. In fact, he disrupted every funeral he went to.

At Jarius' daughter's funeral - Jesus took the little girl by the hand and said "Arise." She did.

At the widow of Nain's son's funeral procession to the burial ground, Jesus stopped the procession and spoke and her son came back to life.

Lazarus was dead in the tomb three days, & Jesus brought him back to life, to the shock of the crowd.

Isn't it amazing that in the Bible death could not exist where Jesus was.

He seemed to demonstrate his kingship by showing power over nature, disease, the demonic, and even death.

But Jesus did die - amazingly, willingly - He gave his life.

He was placed in a borrowed tomb, and on the morning of the third day, an angel asked the women who came to attend to the body why "they were looking for the living among the dead." The angel said "He is not here. He is risen!"

Over the next 40 days he was seen by many eyewitnesses, even a crowd of 500. He promised to give them this resurrection life if they would only have faith, follow him, & believe.

Personally, I believe!

I have many friends that don't believe and don't follow, but we all agree that the good news message of Jesus found in the Bible is one of the most beautiful & wonderful messages of all.

From one who lurks more than posts, Happy Easter weekend!
