Dave, >>>>I will not try to dissuade you but will wait for the facts to do so.

Do you have any intel on when Hell will freeze over. You're taking facts to a dryer stuck in the spin cycle.

Going outside the law? You mean legal peaceful protest like Martin Luther King used? Or Gandhi? What person has Greenpeace ever hurt? Have they murdered abortion doctors and blown up federal buildings? And how much endangered wild-life have they saved? How many trees and forests? How much more pollution would there be without them?

Face the truth, polluters always try to get around regulations. There may be laws on the books but Bush is slashing them and allowing the power industry to ignore them and cheat. There is a huge budget to enfoce drug laws (which doesn't work) but Bush just slashed the EPA by 50%. So if there is no enforcement what good are laws? Greenpeace can at least be a watch dog in a vaccuum of environmental concern at a critical time when poluuters are being given free rein by a new administration in bed with them (and bought and paid for) from the beginning.

Don't you see what is happening now with the Bush White House? Minimize pollution laws, slash enforcement, dissuade anyone from investigating, allow polluters to start building new plants which once started are difficult and costly to stop, open up wildlands to every kind of exploitation, trash global eco accords, slash clean fuel programs, cut appliance efficiency laws by 50% or more (they just did yesterday), allow more toxins in drinking water, open up more forests for clear-cutting, more coastlines for drilling. And keep the energy supply low and ultra expensive so their cronies not only make more profits but can use this an an excuse to the frightened public that we need to do these things. Well obviously it's mostly al a big bad scam for the purposes of robbing you and me and everyone else, not to mention harming the environment.

Also it is all something Bush promised he wouldn't do.
You want The Big Lie. There it is. Compassionate? Yeah right. Compassionate to cronies in the business of exploiting us and the environment maybe. I challenge all good Republicans to start standing up to this. It will destroy your party's reputation.
