GFS, MSFT may have a monopoly, but why does anyone need to upgrade MS Office or Windows?

Office provides about 40% of their revenue, and there is no compelling reason to upgrade to Office 2000, let alone go further from there. Most businesses don't use 90% of the features offered, so why get more?

Win 9X is another thing also. Aside from the fact that MSFT will stop supporting legacy versions sometime in the future, there is no compelling reason to upgrade this OS either.

I'm not as gung ho on MSFT as most. Take into account their cash stash, and they are not really performing that well.
