I just got back from mailing my forms. Hardly anyone at the PO, but I'll bet it will be plenty crowded tomorrow night.

The Federal forms were no problem, but the State of California forms are way confusing even with the computer program. Several times I was asked totally incomprehensible questions like "whether I needed to file form 3562 if I had or had not filed a Federal form 4952".

How would I know? And what does that mean, anyway? I thought they were supposed to tell me what forms I had to fill out. Isn't that why I bought the stinking computer program in the first place? Maybe Taxcut can't understand what the California Franchise Tax Board wants any more than I can, so they simply dump the questions in my lap. And "California adjustments". Oh yeah. Those are real fun, too. I liked the part that asked me how much I had made turning in aluminum cans and pop bottles.
