Windpipe, RE:"This must make Mikey Dell real anxious to rush an Athwipe design into production - NOT. He thinks those AthWipe systems are unstable... and he's right." Mikey has had 2 years to qualify a Athlon system. Why would he rush to AMD when Intel makes him deals he can't refuse? So far he has played Intel like a Violin. OTOH, every other major OEM offers Athlon/Duron boxes. Even Sony. My Athlon systems are very stable an I pound them pretty good. OTOH, they (AMD) don't yet offer the total package like Intel. Desktop chips, notebook chips, 2, 4 and 8 way server chipsw/chipsets/infrastructure. Until they do, they are fighting Intel with one arm tied behind their back while hopping on one leg. Jim
