You have obviously never measured the power on this processor. If it's so easy to find an app that consumes more power than the TDP, then quit yacking & go do it. Go find us that hypothetical nasty app. There ought to be at least a hundred of them posted on the web right now - right? C'mon, you'll be a big hero if you can just find us one real live app that consumes over 85% of max power. All the information was, and still is, made available to the designers. None of them will design the thermal solution to the max power, because they understand what you do not - that after spending the extra dollars, their system will be indistinguishable from other systems, except for the added weight. -Ted Burton P.S.
