<spainish pointer bred to blood hounds>. No, I didn't know that. I thought they were originally from a few breeds. The pointer originated from a French dog who naturally pointed but is now extinct. Not too late at all to train him to hunt. Try www.ahdc.org for great info. Also could try the NAVHDA website for a local club....they are more popular. Or AKC has local clubs and some are pretty good. All these love to help out people like you who want to try their pet out for hunting. Many times they're surprised. What photo album? BirdDog
