Re: AMD's revenues have been essentially FLAT since Q2 2000:

I look to the future, you look to the past.

Revenue
1998 1999 2000 2001
Intel 26,273 29,389 33,726 ?
AMD 2,542 2,857 4,644 ?

Earnings
1998 1999 2000 2001
Intel 6,068 7,314 10,535 ?
AMD (104) (89) 983 ?

Last quarter was a tough quarter for both companies. We'll get a good indication of how this year is going for the two companies from the quarterly reports to be released next week. I'm expecting AMD to report a so-so quarter and Intel to report a disappointing one. I'm expecting cautious but not too negative guidance from AMD and distinctly negative guidance from Intel.

IMHO, it will be a number of years, possibly a great many years, before Intel has earnings to equal last year's. AMD will challenge its Y2K earnings this year (beating the pre-tax operating income), and exceed Y2K's numbers substantially next year.

Are your expectations any different?
