Yeah I was glad to hear Robbins relate that story of the folkie days....

Interesting to know a little of his background too,
and he had some terrific things to say about
the meanings in the Shawshank Redemption, of
that deep , enduring (non-sexual) love & trust that
men can share between one another .
( we don't have to always experience this out in the foxholes)

It was a moving experience that movie....very
great ending.

But back to those folkie days , they truely
were moving for their time . And I don't think
that Tim was looking back on them as being
"maudlin" , nor would I .

The real secret to life , or at least one of them
is to store in pristine state all those wonderful
(for their time ) experiences to draw upon
later .

Where and when do we become so jaded ?

I was so in love with a a music counselor one summer
up under the redwoods who led many of those
great heartfelt sing-alongs ...ofcourse
it wasn't James Brown , and it was a little
bit "white bread" , but it was
soul for us !

Oh the sweet bird of youth...

;-)

(Then along came Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones...matter
of fact the song was ---->Like a rolling Stone , by Dylan!)
