I claim only an observed association. I know what the dictionary says. It doesn't go into the ramifications of, for example, trying to force others to "[adhere] to a literal interpretation of the Bible or other set of tenets."

No one has to "defend themselves from the label, fundamentalist;" as I said, anybody who tells me they aren't a fundamentalist, I will cease labeling fundamentalist, though I may have my vagrant thoughts, of course.

BTW, to most fundamentalists, the label is not anything to "defend" against. They wear it with pride, I believe.

Did my "displeasure" enter the conversation before you used the word?

I get the impression that you are implying that I go about expressing or withholding my personal "pleasure" or "displeasure" (as opposed to my Debate Society and Boxing Ring (No Gloves) opinions or positions) in some way you disapprove. Do I detect correctly that my post giving some of the characteristics I have come to associate with fundamentalists displeased you?
