Tom,

My complete turn-off regarding McCain was that he just kept shooting from the hip. He either had no advisers or was not willing to listen to anyone. His temper is alarming. Agreed that he is definitely not a presidential material.

He McCain and the guy called Gary Bauer (SP?) were the only ones I rooted against, since both looked like nutcases to me. Incidentally, they sounded the most liberal on most of the economic issues as well.

I think most things Kristol says and writes regarding Bush are colored by his desire to see McCain in the White House.
