Have you ever wondered about the demographics of the majority of chat board posters? Hmmmmmmmmmmm ... I wonder this often.

Here's my theory ... in the beginning ... before there was spam there were regular people who posted on Silicon Investor for free. Then the owners of SI decided wouldn't it be nice to make a few bucks off this thing.

Some nice regular folks signed up for memberships or were grandfathered in for free or whatever. Then the stock promoters discovered it and decided this was a great tool to hype their stocks ... hell you have complete anonymity right? Many of them I reckon even signed up for multiple paid memberships ... the owners of Silicon Investor thought they were in heaven ... the money started rolling in and so did the subpoenas.

My theory is that for the most part the stock message boards have been the haven for stock promoters, brokers etc and will continue to be until enough of them land their asses in jail.

Think of Ihub as a junior Silicon Investor ... they're going down the same road SI did and this is what's left of SI today. Garbage in garbage out ... but the garbage has to find a new place to go where it feels safe and less restricted.

Lola:)
