Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ALXN ), a pharmaceutical firm headquartered in Cheshire, Conn., makes drugs used in the treatment of immune system disorders. ALXN shares declined from a high of $118.63 in September to a low at the $16-level on March 14. Between March 12-21, Director John Fried increased his position here by 9,000 shares at prices in the $19.00 to $21.00 range. The last time ALXN insiders bought shares in their company was November 1999. Mr. Fried''s trade is the company''s largest executive addition to date due to its $185,938 value. The stock''s price has subsequently gained 25 percent to trade at its current price of $25.00.
