hi tc

i was not reading your post correctly, and mistakenly thought you were referring to the links.

but now i do understand that you are referring to the history (sites visited).

of the questions you put forth, i can address this part:

"I am aware of the procedure for wiping them out by editing the registry and how to change the number of urls that are retained in the location(address) bar memory. You can also wipe them out by typing in new ones until the old ones are gone."

the way i remove history is via tools/internet options/clear history

as for, "how it is determined which sites are retained in the list and which are not", that will take some thinking (ouch!).

:)

Typeed URL history...

Is your URL history missing URLs that you typed, or pasted, into the address box? I always assumed that every URL typed was saved, while none of the URLs visited by clicking a link get included in the typed history. Am I wrong?

Cheers, PW.
