It has been years since Apple truly offered value to consumers.

I've always felt that AAPL's true undoing was its expensive prices vs. Wintel. But you're mistaken if you think they are pricey now. They're actually very reasonably priced. Where else can you get a DVD recorder and high end performance for $3500?? Or you can get their beautiful new iMacs for $900-1500... *including* the monitor!

Not sure why you say they are expensive.

What I'm really looking forward to is their rumored i-appliances which will likely hook into their AirPort wireless hub: apple.com

XP promises to be nice, but OS X has its own gameplan... and a UNIX core. It basically offers what LINUX had tried so hard to: rock solid stability and connectivity with an ultra-user-friendly GUI. LINUX always missed out on the user friendliness.
