Paul,

glad to read your lines lately. as always, a good laugh for me personally. things are definitely down in techland, but Moore's law will prevail and thats what feels good to know.

thought you might like this little production from a supposed laid off MU employee (borrowed from the CLOWN TA thread here on SI)--

junco.com

ah, what bad news brings sometimes. sometimes the best in us. if the capital spending recession lasts a great deal longer, at least we will have a creative explosion on the web as a result, which is a good thing. ;-)

all imho,
pigboy
p.s. incidentally, i am looking to go on a vaca to the Italian coast sometime soon. you gave me good suggestions a few years ago on going to Paris, and i was wondering if you (or others, feel free to chime in ;-) had any good ideas for the Italian Mediterranean coast? id prefer smaller kewl towns than the big ol' famous cities (i.e. ROME, Naples). thanks for any thoughts, as always!

McMannis - re: "Speaking of the i820 (floppermine chipset), you can buy the Intel i820 motherboard for $34 on pricewatch."
"At least it's available."

Good point!

OTOH, at least AMD doesn't have to take a loss on the chipset other than lost revenue and R&D.

RE:"Where can I buy a 760MP motherboard?"

Somewhere in Japan for $900.

Jim

PS. I sure would like to know what the heck happened to the 760MP...I mean, this is ridiculous...
And AMD was doing so well...
