That's exactly the theory I developed when I was about 15. I was able to grow past it.

"Neither I nor anyone else has been able to produce any evidence suggesting that any such stimulus exists at all."

Well put. The evidence, as you stated, merely provides an explanation to a social phenomenon. The evidence for God is internal. The authentic call to God's religion is also internal. No one should expect you to believe something simply based on their testimony that it exists. There is some documentation suggesting that if you seek it you will find it. I suspect that is a personal and individualized process.

The "stimulus" of God is not only unknown to me. Neither I nor anyone else has
been able to produce any evidence suggesting that any such stimulus exists at all.

Again, it depends on what you consider evidence.

I look at the life of Mother Teresa, for example. Either she is right that God exists and motivates her, or she is a totally crazy coot living in poverty because of a serious mental illness. You can't reasonably explain her life and dedication in any other way.

There have been many, many martyrs who gave their lives, sometimes under terrible torture, for their belief in God. Now, you can say they were deluded, or crazy, or whatever you want. But clearly they believed there was something there that gave them the willingness to suffer.

It's not something you can weigh or measure. If the only "evidence" you will admit is that which you can weigh or measure, then you're right, there is no evidence.

There is also no evidence of love.

And if you deny the existence of love because it can't be proved scientifically, well, I simply feel sorry for you. You can't measure the bond between a parent and child the way you can measure bonds of valence or grativy. Does that mean they don't exist? The only thing you have to "prove" the existence of bonds between parents and children are a) anecdotal evidence, and b) the evidence of the sacrifices parents do for "love" of their chilndren. These same things "prove" the existence of God.

So in you world there is no love. There are no parent-child bonds. These things can't be proved by reason and evidence to exist, therefore they do not exist.

What a sad world you inhabit.

Edit: Oh, yes, I forgot. There is also no friendship in your sad world.
