Doug. Well said. We ARE in a cultural war that I'll label the "American Civil Cold War". It's being fought politically, legally and in the business community. On one side are those blinded by an ignorance of economic reality in part engendered by constant vote buying via dishonest blandishments, entitlements or bread and circus'(g). On the other side are individuals and groups with have a clearer view of what caused our current political/economic predicament (most starkly exemplified by the CA crisis) and the steps needed to extricate ourselves. What I find most interesting about this 2nd group is that it shows signs of being a new combination of classic pre-Clinton liberals. Men of principal, pragmatism and conscience who served in the Carter and earlier Democrat Administrations finding common ground with moderate conservatives who grew up in the 60s and 70s. Personally, I find this a very exciting development. And it's only just begun... OT/Indeed a small world Douglas! My gr grandfather served with the Wisconsin 7th Calvary in the Civil War. His brass belt buckle, with the big "7" cut precisely into it, was handed down to me. And a old photo copy of his Civil War discharge certificate is framed above and to the left of me as I type this. Some time we should talk about the American Rev(g). Like MENSA, the SAR is another organization I never bothered to join... Best regards, Isopatch
