Hmmm, while Snap Track (Qualcomm) provides a solution for GPS enabled handsets, they are not the only solution. I highly doubt that Verizon will change, since solutions need to be implemented soon.

Have u heard of Cingular Wireless (combination of SBC and Bell South), they will be incorporating GPS location within their handsets. Not sure of the vendor, but I know there are several GPS vendors out there.

Voice Stream and AT&T are going to use a hybrid location scheme, too.

I think you are associating any form of GPS handsets with Snap Track. That is not the case.
