MSFT was threatening back in the days when BEAS was around $6 (Taking into account the two splits that came later) MSFT announced that their FUD product would compete with BEAS and BEAS tanked accordingly (actually, MSFT did it twice :-), I think the second tank was not as hard, since more people were on to the game.
