That's old news

Not to Microsoft it's not: "On Thursday, Microsoft confirmed the existence of the bug."

How exactly is that old news? Friday was a holiday, and then we had the weekend, and now it's Monday. It's clear evidence that Microsoftware doesn't belong in consumer electronics.

Furthermore, "The company has prepared a downloadable patch that it believes fixes the problem, said Susan Watson, Microsoft's communications director. If the patch works, Microsoft will include it in a new version of the software coming mid-May. Because it's a software bug, it affects all set-top boxes using the UltimateTV service."

This doesn't mean to me that "a patch has already been offered." It means that it will be offered in mid-May.
