DSL for business is considerably cheaper here in my area but it is ADSL, so if you do a lot of uploading you'll be disappointed. For a while @Home was offering cable as well as DSL for business under their @Work division (they may still be), but the pricing was far from competitive.

I actually know quite a few people that run their SOHOs on @Home service, but of course it is a violation of the TOS. If you could get cable for work and DSL for home you'd be happy because the DSL tends to be slow during the day and fast at night, cable is on the opposite schedule.

I've heard of some inexpensive SDSL services that offer up to 1 to 2 mps but alas the companies have gone out of biz. Meanwhile my cable reaches that speed on as regular basis, although it isn't by any means guaranteed.

That T1 price is the reason the RBOCs have been dragging their feet rolling out DSL, they don't want to eat their own lunch and so far they have been highly effective keeping anyone else from doing it as well, since you have to go through them at some point to get any kind of line except cable.
